Gallery Nørdeinde is both a physical gallery and a digital webshop, run by a mother and daughter. Together, we share the story of sustainable handmade products. How it’s made; beauty of the craft and the simplicity of it. We aim to excite people to learn a craft and motivate them to persevere, to keep learning and to create their own skillful art.

We are Gallery Nordeinde

I am Madeleine, the master potter. For over twenty years, I have honed the artistry of pottery making. Through my love for my career and the thousands of hours in practice, I can proudly say that I am one of few who have mastered ‘Monumental Pottery making’.

I am Mendel, an engineer and brand designer. Being the daughter of Madeleine, I have seen the path of determination and perseverence that is integral to the art of any craftmanship. Gallery Nørdeinde enables me to share this story,  to inspire self-actualization and perseverance in others.

What makes handmade ceramics special

For far too long, handthrown pots and bowls have had the image of being reserved for the eccentrics and offbeat individuals. But as craftmanship is regaining attention, handmade ceramics are re-entering the mainstream market, becoming part of a much larger societal trend.

The resurgence of ceramics as both an artform and interior feature is, at its core, about a return to the tangible. A deliberate changing of pace from the hectic lives most of us now lead. Offering a welcome reprieve from the virtual worlds we embed ourselves in. It reminds us to slow down, take stock and cast our gaze offline to appreciate the considered nature of something as simple as a cup. The cup can present to the user a hand-held universe, which reveals spinning and turning of the clay: how it once has been in turbulent motion, and now has come to a peaceful stillness. A small relief in a world where quiet moments of reflection are becoming few and far between.

Handmade ceramics embody the beauty of an unhurried and deliberate art.
